Filson Lecture Series
The Society of Colonial Wars in the Commonwealth of Kentucky sponsors an annual lecture on colonial history at the Filson Historical Society in Louisville, which since 1884 has collected, preserved, and told the significant stories of Kentucky and Ohio Valley history and culture. The first lecture in the series was delivered (virtually) on March 4, 2021, by Professor Jacob F. Lee of Pennsylvania State University. Professor Lee gave a fascinating talk on “Masters of the Middle Waters: Indian Nations and Colonial Ambitions along the Mississippi.” On March 15, 2022, the author Tom Clavin will speak on “Blood and Treasure: Daniel Boone and the Fight for America’s First Frontier.” Stay tuned for details.
